My sister and brother-in-law are a treasure and I’m grateful to have them in my life. I just spent three weeks with Betsy and Steve, all of that time feeling completely at home in their home. Many of those days were stressful while we were in the midst of moving my Mom into an assisted living facility. Both Betsy and Steve were excellent role models for me, handling the stress with grace and calm, and doing what needed to be done. I’ve got the greatest sister on the planet and couldn’t ask for a better brother-in-law. They are both extraordinary human beings and together they are a strong and loving force. Since “silent gratitude isn’t very much use to anyone”, as Gertrude Stein said, I want to express my gratitude out loud.

Another reason for today’s post is that it’s Steve’s birthday. Happy Birthday Steve!
