Look at the earth crowded with growth,
new and old bursting from their strong roots
hidden in the silent, live ground each seed
according to its own kind . . . each one knowing
what to do, each one demanding its own rights
on the earth. So artist, you too from the depths
of your soul . . . let your roots creep
forth gaining strength.
~Emily Carr~
I think that one’s art is a growth
inside one. I do not think one can
explain growth. It is silent and
subtle. One does not keep digging
up a plant to see how it grows.
~Emily Carr~
If every day is an awakening,
you will never grow old.
You will just keep growing.
~Gail Sheehy~
Growth itself is an erratic forward movement;
two steps forward, one step back.
Remember that and be gentle with yourself.
~Julia Cameron~
Life is a garden. It is an opportunity.
You can grow weeds, or you can grow
roses; it all depends on you.
~Osho~
I have never completed, or even started for that matter, a Weekly Photo Challenge on the same day I received it. Usually I mull it over for a few days, take some new photos or browse through my photo library, search for quotes, and then get started on it, taking more than one sitting to finish it. Today is different. I just came back from a walk along the ocean with a camera filled with shots that depicted growth to me, so when I opened my inbox I was excited to see this week’s topic. And, because of my ongoing desire and commitment for personal growth I had more than a handful of quotes ready and waiting to be put on the page. In fact, I like the topic so much I may do more than one post! Stay tuned!
Don’t go through life.
Grow through life.

nice job on this one SE…would be fun to continue with it. have you heard of Emily Carr? She is an artist from PNW, maybe Vancouver? There is a book written about her called Forest Lover. Great work my girl! I like the first tow quotes from her. They are so true for me.
thinking of you a lot! Sending lots of love!
Thanks, I had fun creating this post. I hope to do another on this topic this week. I do know about Emily Carr. The Emily Carr School of Design is in Vancouver – down on Granville Island. I love her quotes as well. xxoo, SE
