We are all creative.  We are all artists of some kind.  Some are better than others, a few are geniuses.  But we all have a creative spirit.  Allow it to rise up.  Nurture it, challenge it.  Give it freedom.  Celebrate it.

I am writing this blog to challenge my creative spirit, to re-awaken my inner artist, and to explore and live a creative life.  I have heard many times, “I am not creative” from friends as well as my inner critic, and yet, I see how creative each and everyone of us is in our daily lives in so many ways.  As children we are connected to our inner artist, but, for many of us, as we grow up we lose touch with that part of ourselves.  As Picasso said, “Every child is an artist.  The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up.”  If in challenging myself, and sharing my inner artist’s journey of self discovery with  friends, I can inspire another to believe in and nurture their creative spirit, I will be grateful.

Another reason I am writing this blog is to stay in touch on a regular basis with the amazing friends and family that I am graced with.  Each has contributed to my life in significant ways and I look forward to sharing this part of my journey with them.
