The only way to make sense out of
change is to plunge into it, move
with it, and join the dance.
So often when I look out my window I reach for my camera. The ever-changing view is always a source of inspiration and amazement for me. I am reminded that life, like the view, is in constant flux, moment to moment, day-to-day, week-to-week, year-to-year…..Change is inevitable.
Too often we are afraid of change so we hold on tight to what we know and what we are comfortable with, even when what we’re holding on to doesn’t feel all that great. As we get older it’s easy to become “comfortable” in the lives we lead, easily becoming complacent with the status quo.
~Dr. Herbert Otto~
It takes a lot of energy to hold onto our fears, our pain and hurts, our old ways of being that are no longer, or never were, serving our true selves. Once we find the courage to let go, step into unknown territory, and trust that we will be just fine, we begin to feel that we are part of the divine flow of the Universe. Once we begin feeling that flow and trusting it, life becomes much more fun and fulfilling.
A single event can awaken within us
a stranger totally unknown to us.
To live is to be slowly born.
~Antoine de Saint Exupery~
The changes we make don’t necessarily have to be big ones to produce gratifying results – a little variation could send us down a new path, or at least create a diversion that might ignite a new spark of creativity. Look at it as a modest experiment in creating the life of your dreams. When we step outside of the boxes that we have built for ourselves, our minds and worlds expand and new things become possible.
The doors we open and close each
day decide the lives we live.
Without change, something sleeps
inside of us, and seldom awakens.
The sleeper must awaken.
